I am Professor of Finance at the University of Mannheim, Academic Director of the Berlin Centre of Corporate Governance (BCCG) and Research Fellow at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).

My research interests lie in the areas of corporate governance, corporate finance and asset management. I am particularly interested in gender differences in capital markets:
How do women and men make financial decisions? What are the implications for wealth accumulation and retirement planning? What are the causes of gender differences in income, pensions and managerial positions?

My research focuses on these questions and highlights the importance of women's financial literacy and independence for their financial well-being. Together with other researchers in this field, I try to shed light on gender inequalities in finance and to develop tools to create a more (gender) equitable society.

Main fields of research:

  • Gender differences on capital markets
  • Corporate Governance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Asset Management
  • Behavioral Finance
  • Experimental Economics
